Organize your Nursery Room Dresser – Popular Ikea Hemnes
Super long overdue update to my blog, and quite frankly this post, but here’s the completed nursery room dresser organization!
Today I’m talking about nursery room organization and easy tips to combat the clutter. Specifically the nursery room dresser.
Our current house is a four bedroom, and when we moved in we had two kids, with a spare room. Now that we have double the kids, the youngest two are sharing a room. So this room is both the nursery and our 3 year old’s bedroom (although she doesn’t sleep here), hence good organization is not only a necessity but a must! Especially the hardworking dresser.

Hemnes Nursery Room Dresser
I caved and bought pretty much what every other person seems to buy when a baby is on the way, and that’s the IKEA Hemnes dresser, another option I looked at was this Sauder Shoal Dresser.

With 4 small drawers and 4 larger ones, having spots for not one but two kids who are sharing this nursery room dresser, becomes a lot easier. I totally get why this dresser is so amazing for kids.
I also bought the Ikea SKUBB drawer organizers that fit pretty well in these drawers and make the perfect dividers. The bins also help control the clutter.

Drawer organization:
So let’s get into how I actually organized the different drawers for both girls.
Baby Items
Sleepers & Onesies
I fold the sleepers, and onesies inspired by the KonMari method. This makes it very easy to grab and mix and match the outfits.
Also since we reach for these the most by keeping them off to the side I don’t need to move from standing in front of the change table. Whatever makes life easier during a 2 am diaper emergency!
Diapers
The drawer on the far left I keep extra diapers and the wipes. It’s again off to the left so that I can open it while the baby is on her changing pad. I also store diaper creams and small lotions in the this drawer. The hamper and diaper genie are literally right next to the dresser so I can easily access both.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013DUHBG4/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=homewithbus-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B013DUHBG4&linkId=a03bb72cbb7c173c871b5d3ba2643730
On a side note we signed up for the delivery subscription via Amazon for the Swaddlers Pampers diapers. With four kids, a husband who travels all the time, this option was by far the most convenient. Also the brushes nose cleaner etc are this Safety 1st Grooming Set and I’ve relied on them for each of my kids.
Accessories
Second drawer has accessories, socks hats, bibs and tights. Again those small organizers work here so well!
Toddler Items
The second row are my toddlers clothes. I tend to hang most of her clothes, so in one drawer and thanks to the help of the organizers, I can store her PJs, pants, under garments and accessories. Pretty simple and works great for her!
Miscellaneous Items
Bath items are stored in the next drawer. Again easy to grab during bath time, and I always make sure to store items that are for the same purpose together. That way as the kids get older they can find what they need and it makes tidying up that much easier.
Finally in the bottom drawer, I keep the bathing suits, extra wipes, diaper genie refills, bags etc. I also keep spare crib sheets and changing pad covers. Lots of room still in here for other items. That’s something I make sure to always account for. Ensuring there’s extra room!
In the last drawer (forgot to take a pic) but it really isn’t that exciting. I pretty much keep it as a catch all. Sleepers that are too big, winter accessories for the baby and whatever else that just needs a temporary space.
Hope you find this post helpful, especially if you need some inspiration in storing your baby/toddler clothes. I don’t know why I find it so satisfying to look at!
