Welcome! Not sure if this is your first time here, but this is most def a first for me, I’ll be taking part in this year’s One Room Challenge (ORC) as a guest participant. I’ll be taking on my 14 year old’s bedroom and to be quite honest, I need the motivation and accountability to finish the last of the girls’ room.

Here are the other two bedrooms, one is my 16 year old’s, and the other is a shared room for my 4 and 2 year old.

If it’s not obvious, I love to decorate with tons of colors and patterns. However, I think for my daughter, Zayna, a more soothing and muted color palette is what we are going for. Even though Zayna is my sporty girl she’s also my most creative and artsy. She’s already in love with some art she saw online, so that will be the inspiration for her room! (Maybe, things always change!)

THE PLAN

Alright so I’m actually going to give this room a bit more thought than just going for it, which means starting with a pretty strict budget. Right now since we can’t run out to say HomeSense to purchase items, most of her items will be purchased online (probably higher price point then I’d like) and without actually seeing them in person, eek!

I also really wanted to use wallpaper, so I ordered some samples from Graham & Brown, but Zayna and I didn’t like any of them, so paint it is for now.

I decided to split up the items that we need to must haves, and decorative.

The Room

Finally here’s a look at some before pics of her room, needs some work for sure! Plan on cleaning out her closet, and possibly reorganizing, by using the existing organizer.
