Giving my Tired Powder Room a Weekend Refresh
Welcome back guys! I’m excited to be sharing with you our weekend powder room refresh, just in time for New Year’s and just in time to not have any guests over. Pretttyyyy sad. Thank you lockdown life. But hey at least the 6 of us at home can enjoy it.
If you saw my previous post, Refreshing your Powder Room – The Design, you would have seen all the design prep that took place before we completed the weekend makeover.

Before
Here’s the before of the powder room. I know it’s not that bad, but it was a little dated and I was feeling extremely bored with it. Since being stuck at home SOOO much this pandemic year, even a refreshed powder room feels like a getaway (I can’t believe I actually said that).
After
By keeping the vanity, sink and toilet, I was able to focus all the wow factor (and budget) in one area, to create a visually stunning accent wall.
Details
Wallpaper
The inspiration for this space stemmed from this bold, unique wallpaper. After going through countless books and designs, my husband and I kept coming back to this one. Maybe it was the lack of a vacation this year, but this wallpaper was giving me tropical resort vibes. And with that, I went full steam ahead with planning our powder room getaway for ourselves.
The wallpaper is by Advantage Wallpaper sourced via our local Benjamin Moore store. It’s got a lovely sheen, some texture, and best of all waterproof, perfect for the powder room.
Faucet
Also can we take a moment to appreciate this Moen Flara Faucet. I had been on the hunt for a slightly traditional yet modern brushed gold faucet, and this faucet was just perfect. It was a tad bit of a splurge, but 100% worth it. It’s very a very sturdy solidly built faucet.
Mirror
The mirror is from CB2 Canada, and by adding the acrylic with brass touch, it didn’t take away from the wall. In fact the touch of glam added so much visual interest.
Vanity Light
The vanity light was a perfect budget friendly find from Home Depot. The light was such a good blend of all the finishes, and the clear glass did not take away visually from the wallpaper.
Towel Bar
The towel bar is the Bathsir Brushed Gold Towel Bar from Amazon, and I decided on going with a bar instead of a ring. The towel bar filled the empty wall space up nicely and provided another pop of gold.
Cabinet Hardware
The cabinet hardware is from CB2 and is made of resin. which matched the granite counter tops and blended nicely with the cabinet. I didn’t want a bright gold or brass handle to take away again from the accent wall. Also yes I bought that soap simply for the B :).
All those little details added to the finished look of this space, and we were able to give our tired powder room a weekend refresh. Hope you found some inspiration for your own powder room, take risks and have fun with it! We ended up with a little resort oasis. Can’t wait to wow our guests when we finally have them over again!
